Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has undergone the seventh surgery in Dubai following an accident that injured his feet two months ago.

Taking to social media on Wednesday, the legislator expressed his gratitude for having made it through the procedure at American Hospital Dubai.

“Just woke up from the 7th surgery in 2 months. God is indeed faithful. Thank you all for the prayers,” he wrote on Facebook.

Kuria previously said he was referred by a friend to purchase a warm mat from a company known as Ceragem in Nairobi to cure numbness in his feet.

Hours later, his feet exploded and he had to be rushed to Karen hospital with third-degree burns.

In an interview on October 8, 2021, the lawmaker narrated how events unfolded which led to his ordeal.

"Two weeks ago, a friend of mine convinced me to use a gadget which to my knowledge I thought was authorized. This gadget happened to do some slow-burning of my feet. I went home at night and my feet just exploded," said Kuria.

"I came here (to hospital) the following day and they had to do some emergency surgery, then they did a proper surgery and as late as yesterday, yet another surgery. Something that was supposed to be a solution has seen me undergo three surgeries," he said then.

The gadget, according to Moses Kuria, cost Ksh.250,000.

The legislator vowed to sue Ceragem Limited after reports emerged that the company had not been licensed by the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

“The company must take responsibility, I have contacted the DCI, a criminal process is taking place alongside this parliamentary process. I am also going to sue in my personal capacity in a civil approach,” Kuria said on October 28, 2021 accusing the company of being casual in handling the matter.
