Governor Sonko throws tantrum in front of President Kenyatta

A protocol glitch today threatened to mar a tree planting event attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in the city. Nairobi governor Mike Sonko openly expressed displeasure after the master of ceremony failed to invite him to address the gathering. Reading malice, Sonko shot up to speak as soon as environment and forestry cabinet secretary Keriako Tobiko had invited the deputy president to give his speech. Francis Gachuri reports on the governor’s epic tantrum, amid questions on his competence to manage the country’s capital.
