BREAKING NEWS: JAMES NYORO SWORN IN AS KIAMBU GOVERNOR

James Nyoro has finally been sworn in as the new Kiambu Governor. He was sworn at 12:46pm on Friday, January 31 by Justice John Onyiego and in the presence of Kiambu Chief Magistrate Patricia Gichohi. “The law has been complied with fully,” the Chief Magistrate said. There was ululation after Governor Nyoro signed the certificate of inauguration, officially taking over the reins at the helm of the Kiambu County Government. This makes his predecessor Ferdinard Waititu the first governor in the history of Kenya to be successfully removed from office. Waititu was kicked out of office by the Senate on three charges: Gross Violation of the Constitution & Public Finance Management Act; Crimes Under the National Law; and Gross Misconduct/Abuse of Office.
